I grew up in a large family, in a small town in the Texas panhandle. My family lived on a working farm and what I didn’t realize until much later in my adult years is that is where my passion and love for food began. We were eating farm to table before farm to table was cool. As an adult, I spent 14 years in full-service restaurants, holding every management position but excelling in the kitchen. I spent some time managing a meat market where I became educated about protein qualities and soon after, got sucked into the catering world where I spent 10 years as a Culinary Director at a large full-service catering company, creating menus and executing thousands of events every year. Not only did catering give me an opportunity to create beautiful tablescapes and magical events, it gave me the outlet to play with food and find my culinary voice and now I can’t be quiet! I love the challenge of recreating someone’s favorite dish that grandma used to make or changing the styling and presentation of a common food item so it looks brand new.
